Thanks to it's easy to live with neutral versatility 'Rustic Glam' is a trend thats become extremely popular and is definitely here to stay. But what the heck does it mean and if you want the look, how can it be achieved?
What is it? In a nutshell Rustic Glam is using a neutral colour palette as a base to then mix 2 styles - Rustic, raw, old and cosy worn pieces with Glam - Sophisticated, delicate, 'shiny!' and high class.
Think reclaimed scaffold boards and chandeliers.
How can I create this look? Firstly, it's important not to make this to 'themey' If you're redecorating don't go out and buy everything in one go and expect it to look perfect...it's a lot better to collect things over time. As i've learnt (the hard way by wasting money) only buy things that you LOVE! Not because you see something and think 'oh that will go with my theme' You will soon be fed up of it and end up wanting to buy something else...
If you're feeling clever you can even sneak in industrial and scandi elements while still keeping the overall feel of rustic glam...
Finally add in lots of textures like wool throws, velvet cushions and keep accessories to natural materials, metals, stone, glass and rough ceramics. No pristine plastics here!
